Discos

For discos we just run audio cables from your existing desk and away we go. We have plenty of EQ gismos to clean up the sound if needs be.

Live Bands

I love mixing live bands. I am an experienced musician and sound engineer and enjoy working with bands turning your performance into your audience’s best gig. I have mixed just about everything that makes a noise: solo artists, jazz bands, rock and blues bands, concert soloists and several full stage shows. I have mixed the Colston Hall and several of the larger halls in the UK. I am the resident engineer at the Ridings Arts Centre, Winterbourne.

Welcome

Welcome to the website of AA PA Hire and PA Hire Bristol – if you are a live band looking for full engineering or a disco looking for extra PA reinforcement for a large venue you have come to the right place.

What I Do

I run two dB Technologies Line 50 Concert speaker systems. The boxes sit neatly on top of each other in stacks of three and are active with the amplifiers mounted right behind the speakers inside the box. The full system comprises four each of 18” subs, 15” mid, 10” highs with 1” horns and runs to 6800watts.

I am comfortable up to 1000 capacity halls and depending on the venue and type of music to be mixed we can run one line (6 boxes) at 3400w or add more 18” subs or run both full lines to 6800w. All the pics and blurb from dB is attached.

Experience

I have mixed the Colston Hall and several of the larger halls in the UK. I am the resident engineer at the Ridings Arts Centre, Winterbourne.

Over the years I have learned techniques to clean up sound and produce a bright and lively mix. Every gig is as much a performance for me as it is for the musicians, you can never relax at the desk and should be working it at all times.

All PA rigs, desks and outboards do just about the same thing – it is the quality of the engineer that changes.

I mix live bands and produce live mixes; you will notice the difference.
